I would say this is my favorite Country candle/Kringle Candle fragrance of all time.
Kringle candle has set themselves apart with their conifer winter/holiday fragrances.
A lot of these fragrances are analogous, It is only the ratio of the fragrance notes or where they fall and the top, middle and bottom that differentiates them.
Having said that a lot of candles smell similar from Kringle including Snow-capped Fraser and Christmas stroll but none of the other fragrances available smell like Blue spruce.
I have a 2016 paraffin version, subsequent iterations have either been hit or miss.
There was a Mercury collection a couple of years ago that had too much juniper
Last year's version was great and I'm pleased to say that this year's version smells the most like the original.
So what does Blue spruce smell like?
It does not have that Pine-Sol officinal harshness.
Pine sap can also have a resinous sweet smell which is not here.
Balsam on the other hand tends to have that Christmas tree smell that we're all accustomed to,However.
Kringle candles Balsam fir has a lot of pine in it,I would say Blue spruce is the closest to an actual Balsam fragrance you can purchase.
Interestingly even though they are conifer trees Balsam trees are not related to Blue spruce trees yet they have that similar shape naturally and prickly needles.
This does come across as a very authentic smelling Christmas tree.
It smells more wintry than holiday but can be used for either occasion.
It's not harsh, there is no musk undertones and I detect no eucalyptus.
What you get is a vegetal, conifer, wintry greenery experience.
It doesn't have any kind of smokey ember nuance like some of the other winter fragrances.
It smells like you just went with the ax and cut down your tree.
There is a little nuance of juniper here not as strong as years past I think it's to give coolness(The blue on those needles) without using eucalyptus and a sort of resinous slight sweetness.
You won't find a more authentic truer winter tree fragrance.
It has been my number one since it's inception and over a decade later it still is.
