Strong Throw, But More Spicy Resinous Wood than Fresh Green Tree Scent

This is an unexpected one. I thought this would be an obvious safe choice to include in my order, as I love winter greenery and tree scents. However, it turned out to be quite a challenging candle. On cold sniff, I was quite surprised to find it has a dry, woody, smoked pinecone smell — not the green forest scent that I’ve come to know from other candle brands that feature balsam fir scents. Lighting the candle brings out a smoky and strangely spicy note, which I personally found unpleasant. I love smoky scents, so the issue isn’t the smoke notes so much as the way the smoke, spice, and dry woods combine to make a rich, resinous scent that borders on dusty. This isn’t a green balsam fir — it is a dark, deep brown one. I could see how someone may appreciate it though, and it does have substantial throw (at least for a medium room). If you are seeking a more conventional, fresh version of balsam fir, I’d skip this particular one and go for the many other offerings that Kringle has in that category that fit the bill.

Absolutely love

I could not wait for Christmas to burn this. It smells strongly of balsam fir, and in a goid way. Throw is a 9-10. Would repurchase.
