If you are anything like me, the stronger and more in-your-face a candle is, the better! And this is the strongest, highest throw candle among the dozen that I have tried from Kringle. As soon as I opened the lid, the most intense and beautiful juniper and Christmas forest-like scent filled the room. I knew this was a winner.
And after burning it, it got even better. The juniper and spruce are the dominant notes, filling even the largest room with the festive cheer that I was searching for, for the whole season. I tried Yankee, I tried BBW, and neither had a candle that even came close to this beauty.
If you are searching for a similar strong-throw candle in the same “winter forest” category from Kringle, I would recommend Blue Spruce, as well as Midnight Snow. However, Juniper and Laurel is in a league of its own. I know this sounds like I’m exagggerating, but one sniff of this candle and you will understand what I mean. It is the quintessential Christmas tree scent. Equal parts leafy (in the pine needle / fir leaf sense), woodsy, and herbaceous. I was surprised to see eucalyptus in the scent notes, as this doesn’t have the often-overwhelming & overpowering quality that eucalyptus tends to bring to candles. The scent was definitely crafted by someone who knows how to work with strong notes without being heavy-handed.
This is the kind of candle that would make even the most restrained and frugal buyer immediately want to stock up on.
